Proxmox VE subscriptions and pricing
Proxmox VE is free and open source. The paid part is an optional subscription, billed per CPU socket per year, that funds development and gives you the stable enterprise repository and vendor support. Here is exactly what each tier costs, and how to buy your subscriptions in France.
Subscription tiers
The four Proxmox VE tiers
| Tier | Price / socket / year | Support tickets | Response target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Community | 120 € | No tickets | Repository only |
| Basic | 370 € | 3 / year | 1 business day |
| Standard | 550 € | 10 / year | 4 hours (+ SSH) |
| Premium | 1,100 € | Unlimited | 2 hours |
List prices excluding VAT, per occupied CPU socket, per year. Every node in a cluster must carry the same tier, so a dual-socket server on Standard is 1,100 € per year for that node.

Licensing
How Proxmox licensing works
There is no per-VM and no per-core licence. Proxmox VE is licensed under the AGPL, so you can run it, cluster it and scale it without paying a licence fee. The subscription is a separate, optional product.
Subscriptions are priced per occupied CPU socket, per year. A single-socket server needs one subscription, a dual-socket server needs two. Across a cluster, you add up the sockets on every node.
Every node in a cluster must carry the same tier. You cannot mix a Community node with a Standard node in the same cluster. Pick the tier that matches the support you want, then apply it to the whole cluster.
Do you strictly need a subscription? Not legally. But for production we recommend it, because it unlocks the tested enterprise repository, which ships more stable updates than the free no-subscription repository, and gives you access to Proxmox vendor support.

Subscriptions FAQ
Common questions
Is Proxmox VE free?
Proxmox VE the software is free and open source, and you can run it in production without paying anything. What is paid is an optional subscription, priced per CPU socket per year, which funds Proxmox development and gives you the stable enterprise repository and vendor support.
How much does a Proxmox VE subscription cost?
List prices are per occupied CPU socket, per year, excluding VAT: Community 120 €, Basic 370 €, Standard 550 €, Premium 1,100 €. A dual-socket server on Standard is therefore 1,100 € per year for that node.
How is a Proxmox subscription priced, exactly?
Per CPU socket, per year. There is no per-VM and no per-core licence. Every node in a cluster must carry the same tier, so you multiply the tier price by the number of occupied sockets across all your nodes.
Do I actually need a subscription?
Not legally: Proxmox VE is AGPL and runs fine on the free no-subscription repository. For production, a subscription is strongly recommended, because it gives you the tested enterprise repository (more stable updates) and access to Proxmox vendor support.
What is the difference between Community and Standard?
Community (120 €) gives the full enterprise repository and all features but no support tickets. Standard (550 €) adds 10 support tickets per year, SSH support and a 4-hour response target. Basic sits between them, Premium adds unlimited tickets and a 2-hour response.
Can I buy Proxmox subscriptions through LenoIT?
Yes. As an authorised Proxmox reseller, LenoIT procures your subscriptions, invoices you in France in euros, and can deploy, harden and operate the cluster on top. You get a single French point of contact instead of buying the bare licence alone.
